 The Newly Municipal Chief Executive Hon Yakubu Issifu  has unveiled plans to transform the historic town into a thriving industrial hub, promising jobs, infrastructure, and economic growth.

  The initiative aims to position Mampong as a center for agro-processing, manufacturing, and youth-driven entrepreneurship.

 The plan includes the construction of industrial parks, improved road networks, and partnerships with private investors.

 With Mampong’s strategic location and rich agricultural base, the town is poised to become a magnet for business.

 


“We are not just dreaming—we are building. Asante Mampong will be the industrial heartbeat of the Ashanti Region. 

Our youth deserve opportunities, and we are creating the environment for industries to thrive.” He stated.

 




The initiative also includes vocational training for young people, support for small and medium enterprises, and incentives for investors. 





Residents say they’re hopeful the plan will reduce unemployment and boost local commerce.

**Two Dead, Three Injured in Bloody Clash at Wiamoase Burial Ground**

Wiamoase— Tragedy struck the town of Wiamoase as a violent clash at a burial ground claimed the lives of two individuals and left three others with gunshot injuries. The incident occurred on Saturday, April 5, 2025, during the burial of an alleged gang member, escalating tensions between rival groups. According to eyewitnesses, the confrontation began shortly after the burial rites, leading to chaos and panic among attendees. Gunshots were fired, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, whose identities are yet to be confirmed. Three others, including innocent bystanders, sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Wiamoase SDA Hospital.
