ASHANTI MAMPONG _PSK_ THE GOV'T SHOULD FOCUS ON RURAL INDUSTRIALIZATION – CEO, OWUSUAA PAPABI LTD

The CEO of  OWUSUAA PAPABI & CO. LTD Chief Inspector Augustina Yaa Wusuah has called on the government to prioritize rural industrialization as a key strategy for sustainable development.

  In a speech delivered at the company's maiden  football gala competition at PSK, the CEO emphasized the untapped potential of rural areas and their role in driving economic growth.

“Rural communities are rich in resources, talent, and resilience. Yet, they often remain marginalized in economic development strategies,” the CEO stated.

 She argued that, targeted industrialization in rural areas would not only create jobs but also curb urban migration, alleviate poverty, and promote equitable development and curtailing of social vices.

The company is known for its commitment to community empowerment, highlighted several industries that could thrive in rural settings. 

These include agro-processing, textiles, and small-scale manufacturing. The CEO encouraged partnerships between the government, private sector, and NGOs to invest in infrastructure, training, and innovation in these sectors.

“By empowering rural areas, we empower the nation.   Rural industrialization is not just an economic necessity but a moral obligation,” she concluded.

As Ghana continues to navigate the complexities of economic growth, the call for rural industrialization presents a compelling vision for inclusive progress.
