**Rural Development Is Our Priority – Country Director, Ashanti Development**

The Country Director of Ashanti Development has reaffirmed the organization’s unwavering commitment to transforming rural communities across the Ashanti Region, emphasizing that **rural development remains their top priority*
Speaking during the official inauguration of a health Center at Domef in the Sekyere Central, the country Director of the Organization Mr Nicholas Aboagye Peprah highlighted the charity’s grassroots approach, which includes providing clean water, sanitation, healthcare, education, and income-generating opportunities to underserved villages.
“We believe development must begin where the need is greatest,” the Director stated.
“Our mission is to empower rural communities to rise out of poverty through sustainable, community-led initiatives.”
Ashanti Development, a UK-based volunteer-driven charity, has been active in Ghana since 2005.
With every penny raised going directly into projects on the ground, the organization has earned a reputation for transparency and impact.
Villagers are also required to contribute labor and input, ensuring a sense of ownership and long-term sustainability
The Director called on stakeholders, including local government and international partners, to support rural-focused policies and investments.
“When rural communities thrive, the entire nation benefits,” they concluded.
The newly constructed health facility which costed GHC 1.5 million would serve more 20 communities within the Afram plains of the district.
The facility involves accommodation facility for the staff,solar power system,mechanized boreholes, and other useful facilities.
